Martin Schmidt leads TRANSCO in Rümlang

Martin Schmidt has taken over the management of the branch of TRANSCO Suisse AG in Rümlang. As the new Head of Branch, he brings many years of experience in European road freight transport, particularly in the traffic between Germany and Switzerland.

According to Schmidt, he has been intensively involved in transport to and from Switzerland for more than 20 years. His previous professional stations include particularly CARGOFLEX: he led the company as founder and managing director for 18 years. During this time, Schmidt focused on intermodal transport concepts and the development of more sustainable transport solutions.

One focus was also on traffic to Switzerland. Under his leadership, CARGOFLEX expanded its intermodal activities between Germany and Switzerland. For this purpose, the company invested in craneable mega trailers for combined transport.

After leaving CARGOFLEX, Schmidt is now starting a new chapter at TRANSCO Suisse. Since the beginning of September, he has been responsible as Head of Branch for the location in Rümlang in the canton of Zurich. At the same time, he has also relocated his private residence to Switzerland.

“For over 20 years, I have been intensively involved in traffic to and from Switzerland. This has not only resulted in a lot of experience but also a true passion and connection with this country,” Schmidt explains regarding his move.

At TRANSCO Suisse, he now wants to bring this experience together with the team at the Rümlang location. The Swiss company is part of the internationally active TRANSCO group and offers transport and logistics services for national and international goods flows.
