Dreier AG breaks ground for Electric Park 2.0 in Egerkingen

In Egerkingen (SO), on Monday, August 31, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Elektropark 2.0 of Dreier AG took place. This project is being realized in collaboration with BKW Energie AG and the engineering office Scherler AG Solothurn, aiming to strategically expand the existing infrastructure of the Elektropark. The expansion includes the energy supply of the site, the installation of two additional transformers, the establishment of 16 new charging points, and the construction of a battery storage system with a storage capacity of 6 MWh.

Expansion of the charging infrastructure

The battery storage plays a central role in the concept of Elektropark 2.0. It is capable of storing energy for about 12 full truck loads, enabling demand-oriented use of the available grid capacity. At the new charging points, charging capacities of up to 400 kW per point can be provided. Upon completion of the expansion phase, the Elektropark will have a total of four transformers, 34 charging points with a capacity of up to 400 kW, 10 charging points with 40 kW, as well as the battery storage.

By spring 2027, Dreier AG plans to expand its electric truck fleet to around 100 vehicles. The newly created charging and energy infrastructure in Egerkingen is intended to provide the necessary foundation for this expansion. With Elektropark 2.0, Dreier AG, Scherler AG Solothurn, BKW Smart Mobility, the municipality of Egerkingen, and the local grid operator are setting a precedent for intelligent and reliable electrification of logistics in Switzerland.
